We will have live music performed by two of our very own - Katie Crombez and Liz Fisher a preview of our performance for the Redford Theatre Variety Show an opportunity to meet one of the co-directors for our upcoming production of The Odd Couple prior to auditions (details will be available at parkplayers.org soon!) the announcement of the 2019 Board of Directors tasty treats and the chance to meet and catch up with your fellow Park Players!

Our very own Steve Spencer was honored as the Parade Company Volunteer of the Year in honor of his 27 years of service to our Thanksgiving Day parade. Steve serves as a tour guide, tour guide trainer, Clownie mascot, and a volunteer captain for the Ford Fireworks Rooftop Party. He and his family got to ride the Mother Goose float in the parade. He looked great smiling and waving to the enthusiastic parade watching crowd.

This will be the 3rd year we have performed at the festival, and this year we will feature an original adaptation of The Cloud Spinner. We had the good fortune to approached by Anthony Lanzilote and asked to be part of his article on the Grandmont Rosedale neighborhood. Anthony grew up in North Rosedale Park before moving to New York and writing about theatre (among other things) as a freelance writer. So when he said he want to come that pictures of Shrek on the final performance I was a little nervous.

Save the Date! Summer Picnic Where: Lola Valley Park When: Sunday, August 5, 2018 at 1pm Join us for our annual summer picnic at Lola Valley Park in Redford, MI on Sunday, August 5, 2018. The picnic will start at 1pm. Park Players will be grilling and providing meat and vegetarian options as well as water and lemonade. All members are encouraged to bring a side item. Players’ Spotlight: Dionté Brown By Elizabeth Dickson-Sanders

We first met in 2008 during the Park Players production of Smokey Joe’s Café. At that time, Dionté was just a 17-year old high school senior, but his performance abilities far exceeded his age. For this reason, he was featured in several songs and dances. However, Dionté’s artistic journey was just beginning. He graduated from high school and moved on to Michigan State University, where he majored in theater and honed his dance skills.

Angels in America Part One: Millennium Approaches Fresh off its Tony Award winning, 25th Anniversary revival on Broadway, The Park Players is thrilled to have been granted performance rights for Angels In America, Part One: Millennium Approaches for November 2018. Helping us to bring this truly groundbreaking work of American theatre to our stage as director will be Joe Bailey, Artistic Director of The Ringwald Theatre. The production team has already been meeting to plan Joe’s vision for the show and now it’s time for everyone else to join in.

2018 marks the beginning of a new era in Park Players history! We’re super excited for our move to the Redford Theatre. Make sure to come check us out in our new home!

Sunday, December 17 at 6:00pm With our recent move to Redford Theatre, this will be a very special party! Our annual Christmas gathering will be held at the Community House on December 16 at 6pm. We’ll be singing our favorite carols, hymns, and songs around the piano, and Santa will be in the building! Please come join us for a fun-filled evening of joy, celebrating the holiday season, and enjoying the presence of good friends.
